50 is street but probably would be president or a scholar if he was born in a different environment. California is a weird place,if you take out the gangs most of the hoods there would be considered middle class neighborhoods to the rest of the country. They're not living in lead paint section 8 buildings like the east coast. Them dudes are being gangstas by choice not necessity. Dre ain't a street and neither was pac. They were artsy kids.

Kendrick, Drake, Cole, Big Sean, Joyner, hospin and the rest of the perfect pronunciation rappers are just nerds that made it. They do just enough hood shyt to stay relevant in those bases without going too far to keep their core fan base from calling them sell outs. Except hospin could never master that so he fell off. Drake is really the best at it acting like he has mob ties just cuz J Prince owns some of his publishing.

I’m from New Orleans I can have that same perspective about nyc. Yall have building and land of opportunity, yall gangstas by choice compared to us.
Dont matter what your neighborhood looks like if it’s full of poverty, gangs and drugs.
And again Kendrick not in a gang or ever tried to be street. He just a regular nikka. But still got jumped and beat up for being from a certain area and his friends had to go retaliate for him.

He just offered his “spot” in the rap game up to a bunch of nikkas who are hungry for recognition.
Going the apology route with Kendrick may have looked weak and been a mistake but it objectively makes sense. But the idea that because he did it that he has to be a straight up pacifist and let everyone take turns tapping his chin is 100% the wrong move.
He needs to strap up and let nikkas know just because I was honest about not being inspired to attack Kendrick doesn’t mean it’s open season.
