There’s two. The Puerto Rican one and the black one. The Black one is more famous because SMM became a notorious gang in NYC and was much more ruthless.

I have no faith in any of 50's adaptations of these crime stories, Power is heavy handed and cliched. I loved that SMM book last summer, and spent months playing Lord Tariq and Gunz in some bizarre form of appreciation. I would love to see SMM as a miniseries or 3 hour movie, I think someone like Barry Jenkins, maybe Stefanno Solina (Gomorrah) could turn that into something special. You need non stylized violence, but the frenzy and feel of 90's Soundview, and Manhattan, (The Tunnel) plus the killings in the Bronx, the project roofs and towers, wide angle shots.
