50 vehicles stripped of wheels, rims at Hutto dealership
HUTTO, Texas (KXAN) — A dealership in Hutto is trying to figure out who came in and stole rims and tires from approximately 50 vehicles over the weekend.
The burglary happened some time between Saturday, Feb. 20 and Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Covert Ford located on U.S. 79. To avoid detection, police say the suspects cut the lines and wires to the surveillance camera equipment.
While some vehicles were left sitting on blocks, some were also left on the ground, which damaged the vehicles. Police say the thieves targeted GMC trucks, Ford Expeditions, Ford Explorers and Chevrolet Camaros.
