Kind of a bullshyt article tbh
Scotland from what I understand would actually be because unlike the rest of the UK, they want to stay in the EU. UK brehs correct me if I'm wrong.
Flanders prob won't ask for independence any time soon, because they already have a de facto one (Belgium might be the most decentralized country in Europe) and they basically already control the country. They actually have little political gain to become independent, would lead to years of negociation when they can dismantle the country from the inside. N-VA speaks more about confederalism than independence.
Basque country I don't really know.
New Caledonia, if they do step out, is irrelevant at the EU level. Same with Corsica.
Faroe Islands are not part of the EU lol. They have a special agreement with Denmark and the EU, but the treaties specify that the Islands are NOT part of the EU.
Lombardia and Veneto is a bunch of right-wing populists only talking about independence, they are VERY far from even having any kind of political reality.
So Faroe Islands already isn't part of the EU, New-Caledonia and Corsica are irrelevant at the EU level, and Lombardia and Veneto are a very long shot.
Scotland wants to stay in the EU, so we're basically left with Basque Country and Flanders. Flanders would be a blow, mainly because it's in Brussels backyard, but I don't see it happening any time soon tbh. Especially because Flemish leaders are anything but stupid and they would make sure that any independence will allow to a speedy re-entry...in the EU. They are not anti-EU at all, and know damn well a huge amount of their economy (and Belgium's in general) depends on free market.
