Cruz is fairly knowledgeable as a strict constitutionalist. Like I said though, his public persona is definitely not authentic. Even in the congressional hearings Ive seen...he is way too "lawyerish" in that he essentially leads whoever is a witness on a given subject to try and prove his stance rather than simply eliciting information from them. Ill read up on his background but that doesnt surprise me at all.

The guy who is really waiting on Trump's scraps is Chris Christie. He's clearly not unfamiliar with eating leftovers and he is playing that gregarious role...the spin is that he wants to be seen as Trump but more politically seasoned. It could work but he fukked up too many times in recent history...unlike Rubio/Walker..he ran too late. He shouldve ran last time. Plus, he just gaffe'd hard and isn't teflon like Trump...Trump having a gaffe is essentially part of his persona so its unlikely to affect him at all. As seen, things that he said would have buried other candidates yet he got a jump in %.

Walker:

fukk him, hes wack.

Everybody is trying to pick up some Trump coalition once he bounces but Cruz has been the most overt.

I think your selling Walker a little short. He's bland on purpose. He's a dangerous reactionary(even by U.S. standards) precisely because he gives off that boring guy vibe. Walker plays the suit, he might even be a suit, but his agenda is more dangerous than even a Cruz, Huckabee, or Trump.

the black cat is my crown...
i'm going to make a wild prediction here, i actually think trump is going to give two actual policy prescriptions... he'll actually give a well thought out policy prescription on fixing our immigration system and he'll pick something else to actually go into details on... if he does this, *whew*, he could actually end up as the republican nominee.... i think he's going to surprise a lot of people...

I thought it was worthwhile. Ive seen clips spliced here and there on news broadcasts today..theyre probably on youtube somewhere.

What was your opinion of Ben?

I agree with you on your analysis of Walker, but disagree on your evaluation of his potential campaign success. With that said, you are probably more closely diagnosing the pulse of the GOP on him than I am because I have heard your opinion of his campaign far more than something similar to mine. Legit players actually like this clown and that is a bad sign lol. Whether he is bland on purpose or not wasn't really my point..all that matters is that he is bland to the public as far as primary voting goes....but when the movers and shakers of the GOP love a candidate for seemingly no reason then you can be damned sure they will be a manipulative team-player until they are on their death bed...I don't want to even think about what the cabinet's of a Walker or Jeb administration would look like.

Apparently Cruz's Super Pac wrote a 500k check to Carly Fiorina. If thats not overt evidence towards a Trump coalition then I don't know what is.

What is likely to happen is that the candidates will wait for the moderators to set up Trump on a question..and/or for him to say something way out there on his own..and either let him implode and act like he doesn't exist, have a mercenary rogue candidate attack him with Walker/Rubio/Jeb offering passive and careful support of the message sent in attack of Trump..or (less likely) Jeb/Rubio/Walker will offer criticism directly about Trump and then rally around themselves. I have a weird suspicion that the cons might be cooking up a plan to have Rubio fall on his sword by attacking Trump..we'll see how much of a sell-out he is. Im sure they are also selling dreams to Rand whilst urging him to attack Trump but I don't think he fukks with them like that.

This is how I see the field:

  • "Trump" Coalition: Trump, Cruz, Fiorina, Christie
  • Neo-Con Schmuck Coalition: Bush, Walker, Rubio, Perry
  • Team playing attack dogs: Graham, Jindal
  • Moderate Conservatives(?): Pataki, Kasich
  • Evangelists: Huckabee, Santorum
  • In-determinant Wild-Cards: Paul, Carson
  • Sorry, Who?: Gilmore

I still think FOX fudged the numbers to get Kasich in there because he is the governor of the state where the debate is happening and a lot of Republicans think he is the best shot to win the White House if he is given more exposure.

And I have a bad feeling a lot of these a$$holes are going to try and freeze Trump out and focus the entire debate on Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Also the debate is in Kasich state, they were never gonna leave him off the big stage.

Roger Ailes picked these candidates, I've looked at the polling data and have no doubt that Fox made the numbers match who they wanted to have on stage.

what's a good non-obama (not trying to kill my liver) drinking game for this shyt?

may want to pick and choose but drink anytime:

  • Quotes Ronald Reagan and/or compares themselves to Ronald Reagan
  • Says the phrase “pick themselves up by their bootstraps,” or some variation of that
  • Mentions Planned Parenthood in any way
  • Says the phrase “real America”
  • Mentions how many firearms they own
  • Mentions Benghazi
  • Plugs a book they wrote
  • Promises to bust up one or more unions
  • Blames the recession on President Obama
  • Uses the phrase “mainstream media”
  • Mentions "Illegals"

come on we need Rick Perry in there :mjlol:

It's terrible he's not allowed on stage this year. He went to all the trouble to get those new glasses and try to make himself look smart after that unfortunate "which 3 agencies...?" memory lapse. I wanted to see him try to shine in this debate. :lolbron:
