Was unhappy when I saw Jindal and Perry not make the top 10. fukkery levels would have been through the roof. But they should make for an interesting prelim.

intriguing. i dont think trump would be a far right president though...oddly enough. he bloviates like the far right but his mixed ideological past seems to indicate that he really isnt. :jbhmm:

Trump is on the left on certain issues, from the few things he has said in conversation. Won't touch welfare for instance, unlike the other candidates and quite a few democrats actually , he also has fiercely criticised bush 2 for going into iraq . You could also suggest his jobs policy is to the left,in that he wants more american corporations to create jobs in the states rather than overseas, and he claims he will tax them massively if they don't do what he says. So for instance if ford wanted to set up a new car plant somewhere where they could get cheap labour, trump would contact them and say fine, but you be paying a massive import tax on cars imported to america. That kind of trade protectionism is socialist. But he will cleverly label it as patriotic and 'america first.'.

He is also less of a bible thumper than some others , I don't think he cares all that much about gay marriage or abortion rights, he is just playing to his base on those issues . What he seems to care about is the economy and immigration.Because he knows those issues will get him in the white house.

Have to remember he donated heavily to democrats in the past. Trump is primarily an opportunist, he has decided to run at this time for a reason, he see's how weak both sides are in terms of acceptable candidates, he see's how angry many americans are and he is playing that. He will say what he has to to get elected, I think he will be a civic nationalist kind of president, I can see arnold stumping for him unlike the others . I think the racial nationalists and social conservatives will be bitterly disappointed if he does become president.

Correct. Exactly what I was thinking...I think the leftist media and democrats are pushing him as a radical conservative to potentially protect the moderate/independent vote. He's really not at all...he just knows that to win a primary you have to move away from the center then move back for a general.
1hr till the JV debate, fukkery will ensue :popcorn3:
