118 doesn't have much intrigue until the 2 round IMO. Looking forward to Prograis brutalizing Flanagan, he's gonna make it a point to outdo Hooker.

118 is a little bit of a wildcard or me

tete vs aloyan - personally i dont know what to expect from this..ive never seen aloyan fight before but with what id been reading about him he was a high level amateur and all but he's 4-0 with no knockouts...either tete pummels the guy like i believe or aloyan somehow is the next russian wunderkind in boxing...im going to try to catch a fight of his on youtube

rodriguez-moloney - same thing never seen moloney fight before or read much about him but he seems capable on paper :manny:

monster-payano - payano has no chance :russ:..its going to be a brutal stoppage

donaire-burnett - going down in weight at his age is a no no for donaire...burnett is a featherfist..i expect burnett to outbox him...if donaire gets stopped by him, he should retire :francis:

140 though

relikh-troyanovsky is 50-50..i do think this will end in a serious KO

prograis-flanagan - i agree flanagan is going to get beaten down by prograis and its going to be bloody

baranchyk-yigit - the only fight where i think an upset can or may happen..shyt will prolly be a war

taylor-martin...martin is decent but i think taylor takes this by decision..im positive he learned alot from the postol fight

Junior welterweight contender Regis Prograis (22-0, 19 KOs), the No. 1 seed in the 140-pound World Boxing Super Series that begins this fall, and former lightweight world titlist Terry Flanagan (33-1, 13 KOs), 29, of England, are likely to square off in their quarterfinal match on Oct. 27 at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Prograis’ hometown, multiple sources with knowledge of the discussions told ESPN. It would be the second fight in a row for Prograis, a 29-year-old southpaw, at the arena, which is where he knocked out Juan Jose Velasco in the eighth round his final fight before the tournament on July 14. All three of the WBSS tournaments that kick off this fall with stream live in the United States on DAZN and part of the deal between tournament organizers and DAZN is that at least four events must take place in the U.S., according to sources.

Despite not being seeded, Russian Olympian Mikhail “Misha” Aloyan will have home-field advantage against #3 Zolani Tete in the opening round of the World Boxing Super Series. The two are reportedly set to duke it out on October 13th in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The winner will go on to face either Ryan Burnett or Nonito Donaire, whom the latter says will duke it out in Belfast next month.

Tete (27-3-1, 20 KO) came out of nowhere to knock out Paul Butler in 2015 for the IBF super flyweight title. He quickly moved to bantamweight, where he knocked out Arthur Villanueva for the WBO belt and defended it with wins over Siboniso Gonya and Omar Narvaez.

Gonya lasted just 11 seconds. He spent five of those unconscious.

Aloyan (4-0, 0 KO) lost his Olympic silver medal after a doping scandal before joining the professional ranks last year. He’s fought decent competition thus far, most recently edging Alexander Espinosa in February.

He’s facing a 4.5-inch height disadvantage and gives up 5.5 inches of reach.

Hope the 8th name is Goulamirian, Gassiev (still), Lerena or Okolie and I'd rather have the rest of those 3 guys instead of Fayfer, Vlasov and Masternak

Vlasov and Fayfer would not be bad additions though I'd be okay with them, but I don't need Masternak to hold down a place in this

Tabiti now gets what he wanted
I remember dude was complaining in interviews that him not being on the first WBSS is some Euro conspiracy :mjlol: and they didn't want a fight from US to win it like it happened with Super 6 (that was a conspiracy too eventually even though 3 of the starting 6 were US fighter) :mjlol:

Naoya Inoue vs. Juan Carlos Payano - October 7, Yokohama Arena

By Hisao Adachi

At a press gathering in Tokyo, unbeaten World Boxing Association (WBA) "regular" champion Naoya "Monster" Inoue (16-0, 14 KOs) officially announced his first title defense against the left-handed Dominican and former world champion Juan Carlos Payano (20-1, 9 KOs) on October 7 at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Province, Japan.

The contest is part of the first round of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) bantamweight tournament.

Inoue is the recorgnized frontrunner to emerge triumphant in this tournament, with participants such as current world champions - WBA 'super' champ Ryan Burnett, IBF champ Emmanuel Rodriguez, and WBO champ Zolani Tete. Also in the tournament - Nonito Donaire, Jason Moloney, and Mikhail Aloyan.

In his most recent fight, the sensational Inoue, demolishing Jamie McDonnell in the first round to capture a third divisional belt.

Inoue said: "First of all, I never thought that my fight in this great WBSS event will be held in Yokohama. I feel pride that I will be able to have see action in Yokohama as the first Japanese participant in WBSS, where I will have to submit a maximum pugilistic performance - in search of a knockout in my favor so that Japanese boxing will collect more enthusiasm with fireworks.

"[Becoming a unified champion is] well worth it to throw more desire to myself to be able to achieve a great victory by beating everyone in the WBSS, although it will not be easy.

"I fully realize that the Japanese boxing fans have great expectations in me, I am proud to be a huge favorite of the Japanese fans so that I will be able to succeed beautifully in the WBSS."

This pastt July in Moscow, there was a draft selection to define the first round fights of the WBSS and all of the bantamweight participants came face to face in Moscow.

On that occasion, Inoue's first wish was to fight with Donaire. But, Burnett was ahead of Inoue and named Donaire as his opponent. So for his destiny, Inoue selected Payano.
