9 shot, 4 killed at Kansas City, Ks bar

KANSAS CITY, Kan. —

Kansas City, Kansas, police have confirmed nine people were shot and four are dead after someone entered a bar and started shooting early Sunday morning.

Police said the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at Tequila KC, formerly the Blue Rose, in the area of 10th Street and Central Avenue.


Witnesses told authorities someone entered the bar and opened fire.

Authorities aren't sure if only one suspect is involved or if more than one person was involved in that shooting. Investigators are working through conflicting witness statements.

Police said witnesses reported the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation earlier in the evening.

The identities of the victims have yet to be released. Police said all four of the deceased are Hispanic men.
