His “ peers” are going to see him as a “lame” regardless.Nah. I gotta draw a line here. Parents should have slowed him down. They are selfish.
He will not be a well developed adult. Let's not pretend that a 9yr old boy who has had no social development with his 4th grade peers is a good thing.
I completely applaud a young person finishing highschool at a reasonable 1-3 years early but this child will have psych issues years from now. Imagine being ridiculed by your true peers (8-9 yr olds ) and ostracized by your 20 year old college classmates in your most formal years. I don't even wanna imagine how his relationships with the opposite sex will be in the next decade .
TJ Henderson showed us that this is okayNah. I gotta draw a line here. Parents should have slowed him down. They are selfish.

i honestly don't know if this is the case or not. Have you heard any stories of child geniuses finishing school early and having social development issues?Nah. I gotta draw a line here. Parents should have slowed him down. They are selfish.

Agreed followups would be nice. But keep in mind we know these instances would not be studied by a developmental psychologist because any college board would view it as unethical . This kid is a real world longitudinal study.i honestly don't know if this is the case or not. Have you heard any stories of child geniuses finishing school early and having social development issues?
needs to be some documentary on this, because i never hear any followups to their stories after these initial feats.
I Disagree. magnet and stem based schools do exist. Smart children are routinely pulled from The traditional pipeline for these reasons and they are allowed to develop and thrive socially with like minded peers . This kid has had none of that.
He is running at a social deficit. You could honestly run highschool and middle school solo, but this dynamic changes dramatically in both the adult working and college world. Imagine throwing him into an organic chem class where you must play social politics to finish your lab assignments and must form alliances .

Given his father's proffesion, he should know this. I'm willing to bet his father used him as an unethical experiment. Notice how his father wisely and slyly tried to stop the boy from talking when the announcers prompted him to speak to Niel. Notice how once the boy started talking, the standard things (like greetings, farewells, an acknowledgement of Tyson's position, an inability to signal understanding to the speaker, etc ) we're missing. These are things both his fellow freshmen in college and fellow grade schoolers would have no problem doing.
Im willing to venture that if you allowed this child to speak uninterrupted for 20minutes all sorts of red flags would be immediately visible.
That's a hell of a projectionIt would break my heart to see an update on this young brother in 10 years and he's now a skinny jeans wearing , neck & face-tatted "aspiring rapper".

Who are you to draw a damn line?
You don't know whether he'll be developed or not in life, you are just assuming with a limited understanding of the situation.
The parents want the best for their kid and they are getting it while you sitting here backseat parenting like you know better than David's own parents.
