Keep her home with a cell phone. Text or call every hour. Leave her plenty of cereal, juice and sandwiches. She will be fine.

a lot of states don't have laws against leaving children home alone, it's on the paŕent to determine if the child is responsible enough.

i suspect that's why it's not illegal, shyt happens and young kids can stay put and feed themselves if the house is safe and the parent can check in.

Oh yeah, that would never happen to me at that age.
I would've been knocking on my moms office door complaining that i was hot and needed something to drink.
But i was a bright kid. I recognize that there are some who develop slower than others

She probably fell asleep, didn't have enough energy to give a fukk when she woke up because she was hungry and fell back asleep

I think it was one of those perfect storm situations

at 9, you could leave me alone, and make myself a sandwich. Leave me in the car? I'm getting out of that car if its too hot and taking a lap around the neighborhood. but everyone's different.
