When Thriller dropped, we were still in the era of vinyl and record players. You either had the official version
Or u had the picture version vinyl. This version was more popular with kids.

They had box record players for the kids. You had to hold the record....position the needle...and look for the groove signling the next song. And you listened to it while trying to drown out the scratches. If u were an irresponsible kid like me you found a new skip scratch like every month.....Thriller was the 1st album I had ever listened to at 5 years old. MJ was the first musician I ever got into. 1983, I had Sesame Street, Robin Hood, Cinderella and my pops MJ thriller as my first records. I housed my pops shyt. LOL. Took it from the record collection in the living room and claimed it as mine( I would borrow OffThe Wall too but I always put that one back") I'll never forget that Sunday morning when I accidenlty broke my Thriller record. I was fukked up over that for a long time.
It still bugs me out how Thriller was the first album I ever got into.
