Only thing that got any burn was "Tap The Bottle" and I recall they were largely taken as jokes.

Their explanation for the name was somethin' like "black is a state of mind" and they represented for the people who may not be black but have the same spirit of hip-hop in them or some shyt.

Either way, they didn't go far. And yeah, they were the Bomb Squad's group so the name was probably intentionally meant to be controversial... didn't help them sell shyt.

Yeah, and there were always video shows that came on 'regular' channels as well... I didn't have cable in my house til like '92 but there were always video shows that aired. After videos became mega popular thru MTV in the early-80s, everybody had a syndicated video show poppin' up, even if it was just the local stations.
