Let's beat this dead horse some more and discuss this age old myth that "who shot ya" wasn't a taunt towards Pac. I know everybody heard this song before and everybody heard what Diddy is saying in the background but I've never seen it discussed around here or on sohh back in the day.

Pac was shot at quad in 94.

Who shot ya is released while Pac is in prison.

At best, Diddy went back and recorded his adlibs in the background saying "95 motherfukkers .."

This was clearly done AFTER quad.

Why else in the fukk is he saying 95 :why:

Further proof that Puff was willingly throwing fuel on the fire that ultimately cost BIG his life.

@kingofnyc its clear Puff put this out to fukk with Pac, even if BIG recorded it before quad, Puff knew what he was doing when he dropped this song you have to admit this breh :manny:

If Puff Daddy added vocals to "Who Shot Ya" after the Quad robbery (95 muthafukkaz:takedat:), why wouldn't Biggie do the same??

I'll just leave this here:

"What bugs me about people’s understanding of the timing between the recording of the song and Tupac’s 94' shooting is that the ORIGINAL version of this song, initially recorded for Mary J. Blige’s album as an interlude, was made before the shooting for sure. His verse was deemed too explicit for an R&B album, but it was later re-recorded and expanded into a full-length song, with re-worked lyrics and an extra verse. This is the version we know as Who shot ya today, and this version was likely recorded AFTER the shooting. What is most suspicious is that the re-worked lyrics are the ones that appear to contain the most subliminal dissing
“representing for the queen, her royal highness”, a nod to Mary J. Blige, was changed to “you rewind this Bad boy’s behind this” not to mention the entire second verse which is not heard in the original, containing lines such as “turned front page nikka” as Pac’s shooting had made front-page headlines. Puffy’s ad-libs in the intro and outro are also unheard in the original with his line “95 motherfukkers!” implying that this was recorded very close to 1995. Mary’s album was released 11.29.94, so this 1995 reference would not have been relevant during her album’s recording process. Pac was shot 11.30.94 and who shot ya dropped 12.30.94, so this new version likely done during december after Blige’s album was finished, between 11.30.94 and 12.30.94. With half the song already done, it likely didn’t take long for it be re-worked. They were slick as hell about it, but this was definitely re-recorded as a sneak diss track with some HELLA suspect lines there’s just no doubting it"

^And y'all still don't think "Who Shot Ya" was re-recorded/updated to taunt Pac??? :what:

The fact that Biggie was still associating himself with the people responsible for getting Pac robbed and shot (Jimmy & Jack), speaks volumes.

Exactly breh. There's no reasonable argument for the song not being put out to fukk with Pac. This is the key moment, but yet for years and years they just brush it off with "it wasn't about Pac" even if it wasn't about Pac, they went back and re-recorded then put it out whilst he was in prison.

Diddy been on borrowed time since sept 96, he got to be waking up sweaty and feeling anxious :pachaha:

So desperate.

Leave it alone. It's 3 decades later. Pac own pops said Pac was wrong. Give it a rest and enjoy your Saturday night.

Not desperate my man, it's the truth.

Don't brush it off, I've seen you post in Pac related topics plenty of times, don't front like we should all move on when you still feel the need to come here and post about it.

Pac and BIG are talked about daily by millions of people all over the world, coming in here with this attitude of "move on" is some cop out bullshyt from you breh

Surprised at your responses dude. Why dodge the topic of Puff going back and saying "95"

It was put out to taunt Pac. Is all I'm saying. It ain't gonna kill you to admit it :why:

And we know it was 30 years ago, but 2pac is more relevant than ever, so we're discussing the shyt this weekend

It's over, bro. You can say this was this or that was that all day. nikkas that knew both in REAL life...not internet nikkas...have said Pac ignited this shyt with Biggie and kept it going for unnecessary reasons. Nothing you or anybody else gonna say gonna change that.

Let's just acknowledge both are legendary icons, enjoy their music and leave this shyt alone.

No doubt, but the real reason Pac kept the shyt going like you say was because bad boy released this song to fukk with him, whatever agenda you have against Pac I don't know, but the root of the beef can be traced back to this song being released, I'm just calling it out for what it is breh
