95 South performing at the infamous 1995 Source Awards was cringe worthy

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
And was more disrespectful to the South and when they booed Outkast :russ:

New York tried to shyt on everyone else, but especially the South.

Death Row got an extended set.
Bone Thugs got an extended set
And even though Da Brat performed, chose to let 95 South perform over Outkast :dahell:

Dudes was literally twerking and popping their booty on stage.. pause :dame:

outkast wasn't as big as some of yall seem to think they were.I was surprised that they even won that award.

its the 69 boyz that performed. 95 south was a different group.
"tootsee roll" was a cultural phenomenon. I guess you had to be there.

and their performance was dope.
sure it looks gay now, but dudes used to bust moves like that back in the day. not so much by 1995, but the south is always a few years behind the ball so it was whatever.

I don't know if it was wack. They chose that 80s sample for the intro. They were hella hype - and was that Biggie in the audience vibing to it? If so rare footage alert!

The song was a big summer hit when it dropped.

Nothing about it made sense. I mean, Nas got 5 mics for Illmatic, but The Source awarded him nothing. Biggie got 4.5 mics and cleaned up. They pretty much dissed groups like 69 Boyz and 95 South in Kast's review, but gave the former the stage.

It was weird because this was in New York, at the height of the boom bap era. Death Row in the front rows, and these dudes twerking on stage.

They wasn't the best representation of rap in the south. They would've been better off bring out Luke and 2 Live Crew. :mjpls:

Honestly, they were affiliated with So So Def which is probably the only reason why they got to perform.

Furthermore, they stole that dance move from Jamaicans. It's the butterfly, and they simply put a bama ass twist and call it the tootsie roll :scusthov:

WOMEN did the butterfly by the way, not nikkas. :patrice:
