Part of the problem 90% of dudes want(ed) to be artists deep down inside and dont want to support the next man.

as an artist who was around when people were buyin music, and then transitioning into this era...i cant fault him :yeshrug: hes right

but if these dudes dont like it, they can go get another job. although even tho, they cant stop people from downlaoding their old shyt cuz its still out there :heh:

Tru. This is why young rappers are making club records with simple ass hooks now... They understand that money is in touring.

the fact is alot of nikkas "favorite artist" aren't really their favorite artist at all. there aren't many people in the industry doing anything different to match the changes that the industry has gone through in the last 15 years. they're still using the same tactics and the same strategies labels have been using for the past 40 years with the exception of trying to use social media to promote.

the bottom line is, that shyt doesn't work. if you want people to spend their money, you have to find different ways to make your music a real asset to them. especially hip hop...there isn't one artist out there who is doing anything truly different from the next guy, they're all using the same producers using the same networks fukking the same hoes ect. ect.

the consumers peep that and the artist think we don't.

@9thWonderMusic: Come on with that..."black people can't afford"....TWEETING from a smart ass phone....

@9thWonderMusic: People claim to be "poor" in that regard....tweeting from a smart phone....

@9thWonderMusic: If you bought 6 albums a YEAR on iTunes...that's 60.00 dollars...a......YEAR......

@9thWonderMusic: Please miss me with the statement "people can't afford to buy music....."...the ones I'm speaking to buy JORDANS and shyt every drop...

Reposting this because the only argument here is 'well you cant download Jordans...'

And we know damn well that 9th is addressing us (black people) because this mentality is a big problem among us (well mostly you AmeriKKKan nikkas :scust:) lack of support for black artists but then we're gonna turn around and be like 'ayo why does the radio play the same old trap musik its getting old :sadcam:' 'smh brehs these cacs are stealing our culture why are Iggy and Macklemore selling so well and getting plays on the radio'

White people actually support the artists more than we do hell they be buying most of their content, people shouldn't even be mad when people like Iggy and Macklemore blow up, their fans (white people) like what they hear and go out and buy it - ofc "the system" helps em but so does the support from fans

The country of myself
I support people who make music I enjoy.

I bought 3 albums no questions asked last year
Lord Steppington
Cocaine Pinata
Black Messiah

Those 3 albums gave me everything I needed and more.

Artists just need to make better music if you ask me.
