haha word u can 'excuse' his first finals loss, even tho a loss is a loss

but how do you explain having a team with wade and bosh, and playing against the softest team in the entire league and only scoring 17.7 ppg? who the fck was guarding him, the hulk?

J-A-S-O-N T-E-R-R-Y averaged more points per game in the nba finals than lebron.

That Mavs squad was shooting lights out all playoffs. The Heat didn't have the same chemistry they do now, and it was back when LeBron was still afraid to be the bully in the paint that he is now. He's a different animal now, the entire team is a different animal now.

Jason Terry is an incredible pure shooter when he's in rhythm, JJ Barea, Peja, everybody was shooting well during their post-season run. Dirk was the star of that team sure, but people want to remember that series as Dirk singlehandedly beating the Heat.

Well, if anything, it was a complete team effort predicated from their perimeter shooting against a Heat team that just couldn't shoot very well consistently. The reason why the Heat choked away big leads at home was because they literally just settled for perimeter shots down the stretch and weren't making them.

It's the same reason the Thunder got destroyed last Finals. Heat simply shot better than them, and the team who failed to predicate their offense off the jumpshot lost.

The "soft" title on that Mavs squad couldn't be any further from the truth. They had scrappy guys and Tyson Chandler as defensive anchor, they may not have been the strongest, but these guys weren't exactly pushovers.

If you make jumpshots as much as they did, physicality means fukk all, and that series proved it. They were a hot team that could defend, and they managed to stay hot and finish the job.

Funny how Jordan stans hate Kobe more than they like their gawd. Its seems as though they get infuriated more by Jordan giving Kobe props than anything else.

:wtb:

so who was the scrappy, all nba defensive team member that held lebron to 17.7 ppg?
or was it the entire mavs unit playing like the pistons in the early 2000s
it's either the mavs had an elite defensive squad (they weren't even top 5) or lebron choked.
i'd go with the latter.

especially when you consider that dwade and bosh both showed up, and the average margin of victory was only 6 pts in all 4 of the mavs wins. had lebron not

and continued to score at his regular season average, the heat would've won :sadbron:

They were a top 10 defensive squad, so just because they weren't top 5 doesn't mean they couldn't defend effectively. You don't need one man to shut down somebody, if you rotate and take the paint away you can defend as a team.

That being said, of course LeBron choked, that's indisputable. As a Heat fan, it was obvious. But I'm simply telling you the Heat collectively didn't shoot the ball well, again, by shoot I mean literally shoot the ball well, as in their jumpshots were not on.

Their offense became one dimensional and it became a battle of who could shoot the ball better and the Mavs clearly won that battle. I wish it could all be blamed on LeBron, but Wade didn't execute well either when it mattered.

It was two superstars humbled by a team playing superior ball on both ends.

I take it from your posting that you're insinuating that I'm trying to :cape: for LeBron. If that's the case, you're mistaken. I just think the Mavs deserve a lot more credit from that series than they get.

Wade, Dwyane: 2011 Finals vs. Dallas

27ppg (57%fg), 7rebs, 5ast, 1.5stl, 1.5blks

I dont know what else you could expect from Wade. Now, I didnt need to pull those stats because I remember the games pretty clearly. It wasn't Wade everybody was lookin at like :wtf: We was wondering why Bron was lookin like he had food poisoning. It was a blessing in hindsight (for yall :whoa: not me :pachaha:). I dont think Bron's ego could've took the blow of Miami winning & Wade being MVP.

He played well but, again, he didn't execute when it mattered most. They couldn't close, and ultimately that's what it comes down to. Of course LeBron bears most of the media blame, he was the whipping boy for a good couple years from his regular season production.

come on breh if lebron shows up the heat win it in 5. plug in his regular season numbers in every game and the heat win. that was 10 points per game missing in his production. there is nobody in the entire state of texas that could guard lebron and yet he was held to 17 a game :mindblown:

it is immoral to be outscored in a nba finals by jason terry if you're a player of lebrons status. he should've been fined or suspended for 20 games or something
