Let’s start with an easy one. Favorite wrestling moment?
It’s gotta be when Sting finally turned up on the nWo at [WCW] Uncensored ’97. We didn’t have cable when I was a kid so we didn’t have USA Network (which aired WWF Raw is War) but we had TNT and TBS. All I was able to watch was WCW, so I was a WCW fan. Sting was always teasing, all in the rafters. We were all like, “When is he finally going to come at these motherfukkers?” So at Uncensored ’97, he finally went and turned up on. That’s a legendary moment right there.

Damn, bro. (pauses) Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania, the Iron Man match. Stone Cold vs. The Rock at Wrestlemania X-7, RVD and Sabu vs. Hayabusa and I forgot the other dude’s name…

Do you ever see a time where wrestling culture will become a bigger part of rap? I mean, Dej Loaf just did a video in a DX jersey.
Yeah, for sure. Especially when it comes to the clothing. I just put up an Instagram video with Fredo Santana and (A$AP) Rocky freestyling and Rocky had on a DX jersey. We made A$AP Lou go on eBay to get the authentic one too from ’98. We don’t wear bootlegs. shyt man, my assistant had a Bill Goldberg t-shirt on the other day. I wear this shyt too. I’m looking for a Sabu “Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal” shirt and like the OG Sandman “Blood, Sweat, and Beers” shirt and I’ll be lit. Yo, what about you? How do you feel about the current state of wrestling right now?
I’m nervous. We need alternatives. I’m rooting for Lucha Underground. Being real about it, I’m tired of seeing people like Dolph Ziggler not get more to do. For me, there’s no reason to watch until the Rumble.
I feel you on Dolph. I fukk with him, Roman Reigns-hell, the whole Shield. The only reason I’m watching is because of the dudes that were in The Shield. I don’t what they’re doing over there with everyone else. I hope Daniel Bryan comes back healthy. I just got on Ring of Honor, so I’m watching that now.
Speaking of ROH, you recently tweeted your support of The Briscoe Brothers the other day. Any other indy wrestlers you fukk with out here?
Just the Briscoes. They fully get my support. They’re my favorite team right now. I mean, you got the Colt Cabanas and them, but right now, it’s the Briscoes for me.
Do you watch TNA?
No, not at all. They butchered every possible positive thing they could do. That shyt reminds me of WCW in ’92, like the Bill Watts era.
Is there still a negative stigma about being a wrestling fan? Do you ever get any criticism?
HELL YEAH! Man, I posted about these wrestling tapes I got and (A$AP) Twelvyy hit me like, “Wrestling is trash.” Every time we in the crib, I put on wrestling and people are like, “Get this bum shyt out of here” but then they watch like anime! Ain’t no difference between anime and wrestling. It’s the same thing, just entertainment. Something that reminds you of your childhood. When you stop having fun out here and stop enjoying things like you did when you were a kid, your life gets boring. I’m gonna watch wrestling forever. shyt, I just got tickets for (independent promotion) House of Hardcore next week in Philly. I was at the last one too! I’m at the events, man.
Have you met or interacted with any wrestlers?
Yo, Big E. Langston shouted me out on Twitter one time and I didn’t even know he was following me. He shouted me out for my Coogi game like “I got a coogi on feeling like A$AP Yams” and it blew my mind! Like, a wrestler knows who I am?! That’s crazy! Me and him became cool after that, him being a big fan of rap obviously.
Thoughts on the New Day stable that Big E is rumored to be joining alongside Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston?
They need to make that the new Nation of Domination. Just swag them the fukk out. They need something racy and edgy. Like the Original Gangstas in ECW. [WWE] tried it with Cryme Tyme but it came off corny because they don’t understand hip-hop culture. It’s gotta be more militant, that’s gonna get the fans riled up. People would love it, especially since the three of them are already more interesting than the old Nation, the before-the-Rock joint. It’s about time to really go back to the pre-PG Era. I feel like they’re scared though. Hopefully 2015 turns out better.
