GZA is such a beautiful human being man

His spirit is just right up there, dude is smart as fukk and self-aware and all that

He's got a great point about meat eating, makes me scratch my head a few times when I decide to eat at these establishments that use Western methods of killing

That's why I as a Muslim should really stick to halal meat in the purest sense, but the way shyt is conducted now we don't even know if it's legit

:russ: @ Gza reciting that classic KRS song from front to back. That was the best part of the whole interview.

He actually has a very underrated discography.

Sure you can say that now. But go back to the 6-12 months after you took Liquid Swords home. I didn't think that would be his sole masterpiece, it just seemed like he had found the formula for greatness and he might end up being one of the goats. But in the end I realized he's too scientific with his craft to put together a great album by himself. He's showing us some cool experiments, but I think he needs a lab partner to help him present his work at it's best.

I disagree. He's made several albums after Liquid Swords that are at the level, quality wise, as MOST of the MCs that are frequently brought up in GOAT MC talks. Liquid Swords was genius (no pun intended) but just because he hasn't made an album of that classic stature subsequent doesn't mean that he can't "put together a great album by himself". Beneath the Surface, Legend of the Liquid Swords, Grandmasters and Protools are all 3.5 or 4 mic albums. He used basically the same lyrical approach on each but without the crime aspect of Liquid Swords. GZA is more than capable of making high quality albums and he's proven it. If you look at his career objectively, a case can easily be made for him being a Top 25 MC of all time. He's probably one of the few prominent MCs that never spit a wack verse. He's a member of the GOAT rap group. He has an UNDENIABLE hip hop classic album and several really dope ones. He doesn't have ANY wack, or subpar, albums. And he NEVER fell off lyrically (he did have a period of years where he delivered his verses like he was in a malaise but he's recently shown he's snapped out of that) and he still writes high quality raps over 20 years after his debut.
