Can you mod it like the original wii?
If so can I play wii u games or is it limited to wii games and other systems?
I seen the controller has a screen. Can I play without the tv? How far can I go from the system? Can I take the shyt outside and keep playing? How's the battery life on the controller?
I only really care about the Mario game, Mario kart and donkey Kong. I'm interested now because of Mario maker.
I don't really wanna spend money on this
I have a verizon 64gb galaxy s6 edge laying around

Yes, you can play without a TV but a few games dont allow off-tv play(actually I think Splatoon is the only one)

The distance from the system isnt that great. We're talking like same room but that depends on your spot. Its not far regardless.

Battery is short. You're not gonna get 5 hours out of it.

Its an okay system as long as its not your main in my opinion. I haven't regretted the purchase. It does have its months were it does nothing but collect dust but I eventually turn it on and play something every now and again.

target has a Mario maker bundle for 299.99 + 30$ gift card and all the Mario games are on sale. Galaxy s6 is probably worth more then a Wii u honestly check eBay for prices

You can softmod the wii U when it's running in Wii mode. With this you can play Wii, Gamecube, PS1, SNES and a couple of other systems on it.

you can probably get borderline $500 for that phone. A Wii U can be had for like $200ish if you get a Nintendo refurb.

Just bought it yesterday, the Mario Maker bundle from Walmart for $299. It's a great supplement system if you already have the PS4.

I've bought punch out and Super Mario Brothers and been on that ALLL Day (then I can switch over for some Madden on the PS4 at any given).

For $299. I'd say it's more than worth it, and I was very hesitant about it at first. Short battery on the controller, but the dual screen porn capabilities, breh..............................

You can at original Wii games on it without modding it. Just pop in the disc and play. All of the old controllers work as well. Pick up smash bros asap. The Wii u is a GREAT console. Nintendo is just full of complacent morons.
