He told y'all it's over 4 yrs ago and recently the last 4 months he said he won't finish the last two books..

HBO finished his story.

I wanna read the books and been wanting to read them since the show back in 2010-2011. But decided not to, cause season 1 was allegedly flowing his pen game.

G.R.R.M has been dragging his ass and sadly his legacy will never get as high as Tolkien because he never finished his life's work.

Let me put it to you like this....if Martin was a visual artist painter...in his 70s, he has over 100 pieces unfinished.

I will be reading the books tho, but I have other bodies of work to read first before I decide to seek out disappointment.

Yea, was a big fan of the books before the show came out. ADWD came out the same year that S1 premiered and that was such an entertaining period for theories, debates, etc. Watching all that fade or outright die has been pretty interesting. I think there was a collective brain drain when the show caught up/surpassed the book timeline. All of a sudden you weren't seeing book readers treated like cherished wizards who could explain everything to non-book readers, provide context etc. That shyt died and the show exclusive fans completely took over the fandom. It has never recovered.

Foreshadowing doesn't mean anything if you can't execute the ending in a believable and satisfying way. The best D*B could come up with was, "Who has a better story than Bran?"

GRRM knows how he wants the story to end, but he clearly doesn't know how to get there. Why else do you think it's taken 15+ years?
