It makes sense. But tamales are from the Aztecs right? Or where can that be tracdd back to?
It’s almost astonishing how the majority of folks-let’s say here in the States, for example-take for granted foods they eat regularly or semi-regularly, yet never really look up the origins of said food. And if it’s tied to a certain culture or ethnicity, we automatically assume that group were the creators of that item.

Anti-immigrant Americans be munching on American “comfort foods” that were made from immigrants or originated in other countries
