We already knew a lot of this so it’s not something worth throwing hands over.Something tells me if you went around and presented this information to different Mexicans on the street, they either wouldn’t believe it, or would want to beat your ass

No. There's actually several black people who have written several books about this type of work. Y'all are the ones who areSo a white guy on food network saying it gotcha.
because you'd know exactly who I was talking about. There's whole threads in the Root with books and sources. I forget this is TLR and folks get their news and history from Tik Tok, so go on and get your daps, though. It’s almost astonishing how the majority of folks-let’s say here in the States, for example-take for granted foods they eat regularly or semi-regularly, yet never really look up the origins of said food. And if it’s tied to a certain culture or ethnicity, we automatically assume that group were the creators of that item.
Anti-immigrant Americans be munching on American “comfort foods” that were made from immigrants or originated in other countries
Maybe that's it, but in the Americas. I think it originated from the African slavesThe word comes from Nahuatl and it's made from corn so there's that... as for how it's prepared I think that method was common across different cultures; I was watching Gordon Ramsay's show and he went to New Zealand to cook with a female Maori chef and she said her people cooked the same way.
This sounds good, but I don't trust social media. I'm going to need some food pathways historians/experts to chime in.
