Overall I support Freedom of speech for everyone because every living human being on earth has inherited the God-given free will to think, choose and articulate the opinions and ideologies he wants to express the most. And God gave us that same free will to make the choice between seeking His Truth and eternal life(heaven) or embracing hell and the lies of Satan.
But let’s be honest here..on the other hand, freedom of speech also comes with its own responsibilities and its own consequences. Power comes with great maturity and responsibility. Real Life is not a fairy tale, and you can’t control the actions of other people in real time or anticipate/predict how people will react to your words/actions every time. I think the anonymity, the virtuality, the modern convenience of the smartphone and lax moderation rules of Social media have shielded people from real life awareness/consequences/confrontations. They see that they can enjoy the advantages of free speech without its disadvantages. Once people realize there are no checks or balances on their thoughts, words and actions, they say and do things online they would never pull IRL.
As a result, plenty of People feel like they’re invincible and almost always expect to get away with things because there are no rules stopping them anymore. First, you see millions of fake news and lies. Then you see trolls, extremists and racists behaving with impunity, then you see people sending violent death threats and insults, then you see doxxing attempts …at the end of the day, people forget that for each action, there’s always an opposite reaction. This is a Natural law that exists in physics, mechanics, health, science, politics, and real life.
