Understandable....but it's definitely about raceMaking it about race will keep us from looking at the real problem:
1) incompetent police of the street,
2) good police will protecting bad police,
3) and police becoming less and less professional.
Law enforcement reform is long overdo.
So, First and foremost, its about bad policing. And policing in America is very embarrassing, like good cops covering up for bad cops, that Walter Scott incident showed us 4 cops lying on a police report. This is what American better be concerned about.

Yeah,,,partly...Of course it is about race, until its not.
The police are getting worse, and killing a lot more people than they did 10 years ago. Also, they lead the world in police homicides and shootings. So its troubling that the police have this culture of violence.
Is it the fact that they are untouchable?
That is part of the real problem. Imagine those frat boys from the ASU or whatever frat that were singing "there'll never be a N in ASU...hang him from a tree" getting into the police academy and then getting badges. There need to be tighter screening methods. How do you know that your doctor for example is not a racist or does not hold strong racial biases? it's actually been documented that doctors give people of color weaker pain medication on the assumption that we don't feel pain as much as whites do. It's also been documented that white people have less empathy for people of color. If we're not seen as fully human, then incidents like this won't go away. Cops need to be screened so that those who may target other people will be kept from joining.Making it about race will keep us from looking at the real problem:
