theyre always overrated. but this Aaliyah stuff is just ridiculous.

I only appreciate certain singles from Bouncy and none of her movies. Her dancing has improved by leaps & bounds - from dancing way too hard & jerky -> ok choreographed numbers -> well executed moves. She's good looking/fine but not sexy. What I admire the most about her isn't even music related, it's her private manner.

Aaliyah. I love her...still. Fluid moves, sweet & sexy, carried a tune well, could listen to her for extended amounts of time/on repeat, and most of all I would come out the pocket to support her.

If Aaliyah were alive today, I think Bouncy would still reign supreme as people are fair weather and fickle and I don't know if Aaliyah would have been versatile enough to change hats and keep up.

Aaliyah was great. ON HER OWN. Without a Destiny Child's prop up to get her to the next level. that's the difference. That's also the difference with Aguilera and Beyoncé and Britney and Beyoncé. They were all ultra successful singles acts.

Aaliyah was never great. and she was never on her own.

the writing & production on her records was more popular than her actual talent. and she didn't write or produce anything.

Aaliyah was known for being a bad performer. i don't see the logic in comparing her to the biggest entertainer of this century. and i don't even like beyonce.
