About to get a PS3 extra late in the game...what are the basics?

I'm considering getting either a PS3 or a PS4 at the moment. MGSV requires you to have a hard drive to play it so my 360 won't work so instead of getting a hard drive I'd rather spend a bit more and get a whole new system. I don't really want a PS4 cause its so online focused but Street Fighter V is tempting. PS3 doesn't have a whole lot other than obscure Japanese fighting games that I can't play on 360.

In general if you have a PS3 you can play all your PS1 and PS2 games so you have access to atleast 1000 games.

Never understood why Sony betrayed backward compatibility with the ps4

im also considering getting a ps3 but would have to a be one that plays ps2 games.. not much of a gamer anymore since the days of n64

figure i can get a shyt load of ps2 and 3 games cheap and theyd be new to me since i havent played them

or maybe a wii so i can play snes and 64 games... is this a good deal or too good to be true? found it on craigslist.. do the wii's have regular conroller or those weird stick ones.. need the regular ones to play the old games
