I don't think they're wrong. I will say that if you didn't play it in it's era you'll probably view it differently.

While I think #5 is a great game and arguably the best in the series a top 5 of all time is a bit much. I'm also not really keen on #4 being that high as it wasn't even the best JRPG released last year. #3 since they picked 1 game per series I'm not really gonna argue with it but I think that should be

A Lunar game should have been on the list. I think Xenosaga Episode III has a case to be on the list. I feel like Radiant Historia should also be on the list.

FF7 was genre defining, this list is dumb because they pick one representative from every franchise because they don’t want to put 6 final fantasy games on it.

but realistically a list without FF7 and Tactics is just kind of ass

I like rebirth a lot. By by itself it doesn’t tell a complete story. Plus the common issue of it being bloated. IMO the trilogy should be viewed as one experience rather than 3 separate. Until the 3rd game comes out I wouldn’t rank it. It’s is what I view Atrails in the Sky the first 2 games give you one experience.

On another note recency bias outside of Chrono Trigger really is apparent in the rankings. Iirc FF X was rereleased on PS4.

Ehh, by that same note FF X could be said to not tell a complete story since it's kind of a dualogy I think. Rebirth as a whole trilogy being ranked will make it way too apart as you'd have to compare the change/refinements in mechanics as well as the way the game plays. Remake flowed a lot different than Rebirth.
