Im kinda surprised so many are for hitting their kids.

Let's get one thing clear, ass whoopings are universal. Most parents beat their kids assess if they asking for it, worldwide.

Now, it's been a running joke that white people don't beat their kids. Comedians for instance used to really harp on that alot in the 90's but.. Now that I think about it, the cases of abuse I've seen over my lifetime often comes from a white family. Like, black people don't have track records of locking people up in basements n shyt but anyways, in today's culture where everyone has an opinion.. It makes no logical sense that a society can agree that putting your hands on someone else is assualt/crime but putting your hands on a child is normal. At least an adult has the potential to defend themselves. People acting like beating your kids is a black thing . All cultures beat their kids ass. Just saw a chinese kid get fcuked up the other night (10pm no less when she probably should been sleep instead of working) when she messed up asking me for my money the right way when i scooped some wings.
Yes you can talk to your kids but beating is an effective tool especially if the kid either is not able to digest what you telling them or it's an emergency type thing (touching stove or other dumb ish kids do)

I got whipped as a kid. Stayed out of trouble. Graduated w/two masters degrees & studied overseas.

I also teethed on a (homemade heirloom) crib w/lead paint.

For some reason, nobody passionately defends the right for children to sleep in lead painted cribs. Why? B/c we know better. Lead paint is harmful and detrimental to one's health.

Yet no matter how much evidence is released that corporal punishment is useless at best and damaging at worst, we still argue about why it's effective. Hell, Adrian is still whipping his kid after being charged w/a damn felony! Why, if it's so damn effective?

I think it was the APA that said it best: corporal punishment is the least effective form of discipline. Is it effective? Yes. Are there better ways? Certainly. I think most of us understand and seek other methods before we reach for the belt. But something tells me that AP just isn't one of those people. But at least he's upgraded from a switch to a belt, I guess.

How did yours kids get so bad? My sons five I've never even thought about beating him. You can talk to a child, tell him what he can and can't do. When where and why. If you didnt pop out a retarded child they will get it.
