Personally I don't know how great that comparison is as a lot of people seem to be making it.
The word on Prince Naseem was that his love of boxing and fighting in the US was wearing on him and he had stopped putting in the work necessary prior to fighting Barrera...out of desire. He had mentally started to wrap up his career.
Broner is distracted by everything he wants to be involved it, but he had the desire to be a star.

What do you mean he never really recovered? You do know that Prince only fought 1 more time after losing to MAB......and he won that fight by winning every single round? He then stopped fighting. He was never really exposed by losing to an ATG anyways.

Barrera was a beast at that time.
All articles I've read about Hamed point to the fact the boxing game was starting to wear on him and his passion dwindled. Also just read that Hamed said he started having hand problems every fight at the end of his career and that played a major role in retiring early.

I gave AB rounds 3, 5, 6, 7, and 12 even with the knockdowns. Maidana won 7 rounds and Broner won 5 rounds if you still count each round without giving extra credit for the knockdown (scoring rounds 10-9 instead of 10-8 regardless of knockdowns)

Maidana won anyway you put it imo

I will be interested to see all the scorecards of the boxing media. Most everywhere I've seen had it 9-3 or 8-4 Maidana, plus pts for KD's.
I had it pretty easy to score at 9-3, total of 116-109 Maidana.

its ridiculous to compare hamed to broner...hamed ruled his division for almost 6 years before losing...broner wasn't even the lineal welterweight champ or the best welter in that division...even though he won its not like barrera was stupid and decided to slug it out with hamed..he had to box textbook in order to win because he knew that power was real and it was still pretty close on the cards...the only knock against the prince was he never showed that he could come back significantly from a loss..its unfortunate he got out just as the feathers got super hot

You can compare the flashy entrances/brash demeanor but that is where the comparison of Broner and Naseem ends.

If Broner doesn't recover from this loss then the better comparison would be Jeff Lacy...two overhyped dudes who fought nobodies but were completely exposed when stepping up in competition.

of course im not comparing money prince made around 40 million little AB's current bank balance couldn't cover floyd's landscaping chargers im talking the flashy/cockiness/hype around he had without ever fighting a "name" you say he lost interest in boxing but if he would have KO'd barrera would his career turned out different? he was exposed as not being top tier. before barrera prince was what 35-0-31KO's?

Hamed was overrated had problems with a fading Kevin Kelly and should be able to receive a tax refund based off of the work he got from Barrera. Barrera was the only legit comp on his resume and he was beaten thoroughly
