AEW sold out again (in 3 hours), meanwhile WWE is struggling to sell PPV tickets

My homie was just talking to me about this . Told me that he's going but said there's no reason for tickets to be so gawd damn high


Wouldn't be surprised if they do "fillers" for this. They do it for the Raw and Smackdown shows here he said.

They select around 100 people who wait by the arena box office hours before the show and give them free tickets . They select the seating for them, usually in live camera sight to make the crowd appear bigger than it actually is.

He's done this several times already to score free tix

But if you’re a wrestling fan, you get to say you went to the first ever AEW TV show. It’s historic, it’s new. It’s not JUST demand, it’s demand + history.

I’m a fan of wrestling. I’ve been a WWE fan and I’ve watched all the AEW shows. It’s all fake tv shows so I’m not a “Stan” of anything or anyone, it’s just fun entertainment. But it makes total sense that because the market has been hungry for a new North American big time promotion... and they have recognizable names...That AEW should be selling out early.

Once the demand slows (because right now their ppvs are few and far between) and they have to build a midcard around some of their other guys (MJF, Jungle boy and Luchasaurus, Darby Allin, etc) then we should get a good barometer as to how well the promotion is doing attendance wise. But expect at least a good year or two of amazing attendance numbers before the excitement wears off and we see the true “draw”.

Yeah I get that. But location is still a big deal. Which is why I said for the natives who are attending this show, in a town that normally does sleep after 10 that’s a big deal

Ringside for Hell in a Cell is 550, if you get platinum tickets it's 750


Also at the way this news has started to roll out about ticket sales between AEW & WWE. AEW is selling tickets right now to first or special events because their brand new so their selling out (except maybe Fyter Fest & Fight for the Fallen). Meanwhile WWE is selling tickets to just another PPV 3 months from now & it's being talked about just because AEW exsist now.

Going to be interesting to see how they transition into a weekly format and grind where they can't treat every show like a super big event and be amazed it sold out fast. They really should have venues booked for the rest of the year, but they literally don't have anything booked or for sale after 10/2 yet, which is crazy. For comparison, WWE has venues booked, announced, and tickets on sale through the end of November, with tickets for December shows going on sale in October but the venues and dates booked.

I don't think they're going to be able to fukk around on a week by week basis and sell out full sized arenas with 7 days of promotion each time. They definitely need to kick that stuff into a higher gear immediately.
