I agree though my question is was that how Affirmative Action was designed or was that how it was watered down. I tend to think its the latter, but idk because by the time I was a child in the 80's, it had already been in the process of being gutted.

I think the intent of any legit social program is to create a situation where it is needed less and less, until eventually it is not needed. The first wave of people who these programs helped and gave greater access to education, jobs, and capital were then expected to use those resources to create opportunities for members of their group. Ideally, with each generation, the community is helped more by the growing number of educated people than by the program itself.

That should have been our mindset.

It's not even something you can agree or disagree with, it's just a fact that the numbers show that white women have benefited way more from AA than all minorities groups put together.

AA, as it stands now, is NOT what it should be.

It was re-imagined and co-opted to the point it doesn't even make a difference to the people it was created to benefit in the first place.

In many cases, it actually hinders us as a community.

It is a crutch we no longer need.​
