Overlord is the GOAT Isekai imo, SAO had decent moments at first as well but then got into territory. Don't really like the genre like that though shyts mostly gawbage so this fits the mold

i loved this shyt, because everything is going smoothly but then comes the hard swerve especially in the manga, dude fell into an abyss in a dungeon and literally had to fight his way out eating scraps of magic water and beasts he killed raw meat, and he lost his arm and no medical attention shyt was wild lucky his powers & abilities made his body adapt.

They sanitized the shyt outta that series when it translating from the book to the manga... the book is extremely dark and violent

You could say that about most genres in this space. Much of anime, light novels, and manga is just people doing different takes on the ideas of others. You only gonna get a few good copies that come up with different ideas and shine in their own right.
