We're not too concerned about our population ceasing to exist. There's more than 34,000,000 of us and the average Igbo family in Nigeria has 4 children. Our population will double in my lifetime to 68,000,000 - just in Nigeria alone.

Nigeria had a population of 37 860 000 in 1960. 18-20 percent was the Igbo share of Nigeria's population prior to the Civil War. So, around 6, 814, 800 was the Igbo population at the very least in 1960.
