They don't teach shyt:pacspit:. I learnt more about slavery in US than in Nigeria.

My memory is foggy, but all I remember is some talk about missionaries treating them like they actually did us a favor by coming over. They don't tell us that it was our fakkit leaders that put us in this predicament. All for some
I don't even know what they traded slaves for :mindblown:

And you would think, they would learnt from the mistakes of their ancestors, but nah, they pander to these white multinational oil companies that come, fukk up the land and take like half the oil. You would think if you're gonna fukk up your land, you would at least get everything :heh:.

I've been wondering this for a minute now. Wonna know if yall are: :lolbron: or :yeshrug: or :to: as a whole concerning the Tras - Atlantic Slave history.
The level of ignorance y'all display is astounding... No black skinned person is laughing at slavery anywhere I would hope. We learn about it but mostly through western media. In my school experience it was not a big topic but it also didn't pertain to East Africa as much, we dealt with the history of colonialism which was a different version of enslavement. We also had a different slave trade on the East to do with Arabs mostly unlike the Atlantic slave trade. I watched roots as a kid tho and that shyt changed my life.

Good question breh.

To add if you will, what is taught in school regarding African history, contrasted with what's pushed out there by cacs and European/American history?

This!

In your schools are you taught history which puts africans in a good light? Or is it all cac history?

It's interesting that the 2 or 3 who responded are saying basically not much is taught.

YOu have to understand that the Africans who remained in Africa were also occupied and even enslaved too. THe colonists kept them from educating themselves.

Nigeria, Ghanna and all these others were all British colonies. They may know about THEIR slavery in Africa but not what hapenned in the Americas. Growing up in Haiti we were thought our ancestors were africans who were brought there as slaves but we arent taught much about slavery in North America. COme to think of it i dont remember any mention of it up until the 9th grade there.
