both movies are garbage
People still trying to prop up that after earth abortion huh.

It was bad but it wasn't 11% bad. Far worse movies have been treated kinder.
The venom that was spewed at that movie was uncalled for. Based on those reviews you would think it was a historical bomb in the same vein of a Battlefield Earth when in reality it was just a mediocre and forgettable sci fi flick.
look at the audience % to get a more accurate representation of public opinion. Lucy audience % is 48%, After Earth is 37%. Both are garbage.
