A bit off topic, but its actually interesting that for most of human history the logic has been the exact opposite. Kings and emperors routinely rode on the front lines and were considered btches by their people if they didnt.

More so, Countries still operated and ran even if their head of state was literally decapitated. The risks then were the exact same risks today yet they did not deter leadership from leading their troops. Arguably it made war between nations less likely, because your 40yr old leader faced the same risks as your avg 18yr old infantry recruit.
Breh, they did a lot of dumb shyt back then also, like wearing bright red uniforms and beating loud drums into battle instead of camouflaged uniforms and hiding their positions :lolbron:. Dont even go there.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think it is a sound strategy. Chess is a good example. Once you lose the King, the game is over. War is the same way, it doesn't matter how strong your positioning is, once the opponent takes out the leader, morale (and likely strategy) falls off a cliff. The only caveat I can think of is if the war is almost over, they might use it as a rallying cry
