The L was different but dominance is just that ...dominance. Few people talk about Jordan playing in a watered-down league talent-wise...yet he did. And there were several notable Hall Of Famers Wilt had to contend with nightly who were amazing shooters and scorers. Let's not act like he was playing with children.

Richie Guerin, Elgin Baylor, Bill Russell were nothing to sneeze at. Believe.

If dominance were easy, everyone would do it. Kobe, to use your example, essentially increased his usage by will alone in the 05-06 season and went OFF in that February for Wilt-like totals, capping it with the 81-point marvel. Everyone worships him to this day for it. There was no other point of comparison besides Wilt and MJ. Players that dominated. No matter what the level of competition is...only a few guys actually do it. Wilt did it.

He was playing in a 8-10 team league with a pace of 120-130 possessions a game(for example last season was 92)

Imagine if lebron or Kobe got 20-30 more possessions a game?:russ:

Wilt averaged 50 and 25 that year.

If the Heat or Lakers get 30 more possessions a game (NOT Kobe/Lebron alone), you think their individual numbers are going up from 25/5 to compare with Wilt's numbers? You act like a 30% increase in the team's possessions will lead to their numbers more than doubling.

Must've been tough dropping 60 on these dudes. :mjpls:

The Big Dipper had a 78pt 43 reb game in the same season that he had 100-point game. Again, we're denying his accomplishments by comparing eras. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER was loaded up to stop him in EVERY game that he played. That means in a 5-on-5 game, 5 dudes were trying to guard him and could do nothing about it.
I hear so much talk about Shaq's dominance but he didn't put that kind of work in...and he was (in his prime) going up against the likes of Michael Olowakandi and PFs like Duncan...not grabbing 30 plus rebounds with regularity.
Not to mention that there are two sides to the racism coin that had him playing in a mostly-white league...as in, the competition was skewed but so was the social environment. Them Cacs hated Wilt and regularly did everything they could to thwart him. But could not.

I don't know about you but if I see a whiteboy so much as park his car near a basketball court I'm looking at him like :shaq:.

This is one of if not the most hyperbolic statements I've ever read

He had hyperbolic, superlative accomplishments. It's the only way to describe someone who is head and shoulders above the rest.

I don't diminish Usain Bolt because his competition isn't on his level. He's still DOING THE WORK. Great is great.

Wilt is in my top 5 but you tripping on that "Jordan played in a watered down league" shyt
Jordan's peak had less of the greats than his younger years when he had to play -- and get defeated by -- the likes of Isiah, Magic and Bird. That's a fact. And the only comparable legend who could've given Jordan and the Bulls a real run for his money was Hakeem. But MJ had left the league during the time period when The Dream got his so we'll never know. Every true great has an equal or greater rival. Jordan was both good and had the fortune to be waaaaaaay better than the level of his peers. By leaps. Who's to say he would have had the same kind of run in a league with guys as athletically gifted as he was?

No, but Team defense is FAAAAAAR superior in 2013 then 1962, that's something you also have to take into account.

Also, you have to take into account how poor shooting was during that time. More bricks, more possessions, wilt playing 48 mins a night, added that up and you get tons of Boards. Wilt would still be a great rebounder today, but not 25 a night good.

You put lebron in the 60's and its a joke. The high pace, horrible transition defense(and overall Defense), and the lack of atheltic perimeter talent and he averages a triple double on 65% shooting.
