My teacher just asked us to give a short answer to the question "Why have historians and anthropologists neglected the impact of the Haitian revolution for so long?"

As we submitted our answers they showed up on the screen in front of the class. My answer was first. A couple people got pissed when they read "White people are still scared of black people". I probably could have got more support if I said *empowered black people, but fukk their support amirite? :yeshrug:

Have a good day,Coli

She's a phd, real smart actually. She was asking to engage an apathetic class. She was the only black person in the room so I dont think she wanted polarize her students.

I once decided to learn more about Puerto Rico so I read 2 or 3 books like Puerto Rico: A Land, A People. Not one of them mentioned the slave trade or how black people got on the island. Nothing.

I have been learning about Haiti through videos.
