'Friday' Star Anthony Johnson's Family Burdened With Funeral Costs
So none of these celebrities have life insurance? Beyond pathetic
Here's the GoFundMe:
Home going Celebration for AJ Johnson, organized by Lexis Jones Mason
Yep. Especially if you have kids. I have life insurance through my job even though I don't have kids.
I think AJ Johnson had a stroke in recent years. So who knows what kind of hospital bills he already had. But still, people should make better choices earlier in their lives so they or their family are not struggling later.
Kind of related but I don't understand why people don't get a simple life insurance policy. You don't need a huge policy, just enough to cover the funeral and whatever debts you may have.
So Mike J Blackson wasn't wrong.....they need bread
Should have done a gofundme just for optics
didn't know about this, this is sad all around.
If you’re not a true working actor, it’s pretty difficult to pay for health insurance. Even if you’re in the union, I believe you basically have to be a regular in movies or a series to be able to buy into the insurance.
someone like AJ probably worked strictly gigs getting cash for a long time. And he was really sick the past few years so that slowed up. This isn’t really surprising. Celebrity doesn’t equal money most of the time.
Life insurance isn’t crazy expensive so it’s no real excuse not to have that, but most actors/entertainers probably don’t have good benefits.
I believe the that post and most in here was talking about life insurance. Which like you said, can be easy to get for anybody. But yeah health insurance can be tricker.
Still, It goes to planning. If you know your career is going to be cash for gigs then you need to plan accordingly.
Was he a member of SAG? Don't they get health insurance?
It’s only the family responsibility to pay for the funeral or wedding or kids that someone has. I don’t know why they expect friends and co workers to help out because of their bad decision making.
That being said people gotta be smarter.
I'm not coming out my pocket for this gofundme
Lies. AJ is definitely SAG and should have definitely had access to the insurance given his resume
You have to make a certain amount of money per year as an actor in order to be eligible for the insurance. If you’re someone like AJ Johnson, he probably stopped qualifying for it years ago I’m assuming
