Albums that you didn't appreciate until time passed after the release date

So many come to mind

Imma post Kendricks album in this OP

Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers

This came out after a 5 year wait. I wasn't disappointed when it came out. I just expected something different

I thought this leak would be on the project, which was a little let down

I didn't fully appreciate this album until last month. I went through alot of real life shyt in my job

I relate to every. Single. Song now. Even We Cry Together
:pachaha:

Every song is quality. It might not be "listenable" for everyone. But it's art. Something Kendrick has been giving listeners since 2010

Crown is one of my favorite songs of all time already. Simply because of my personal savior complex ive dealt with my whole life. You see where I'm going with this?

Worldwide Steppers. I downloaded Hinge last week. Now I text so much, I directly relate to this nikka's vices he raps about
"Text messaging bytches make my thumbs hurt"

I understand now Kenny
:wow:

Mother I Sober hit me as soon as I played it. Grew up around women who went through those situations. Everyone has a story

At my job, I meet women there everyday that have that too
"As I set free all your abusers, this is transformation"

This man has life changing bars in this album. The Heart Part 5 is one of the greatest songs he's made in his career

2023 is the year where I chose me. Been on my self-improvement journey since November of last year. When I started to live with this album more

Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers is one of those "burn slow" joints (don't ask me how)

You may not immediately like the sound or the subject matter. Time passes before you can really take everything in and appreciate the artistry

I fukk with OP, but he easily could’ve just made a Kendrick thread since I knew this thread would be about him lol
It's not about him. I'm posting way more albums. Because if I posted more than one there, yall would cry about how it's "too long to read"

This is why I can't make threads here. Yall dont read posts. Yall see a single word and post about how you feel

Theres little to no appreciation for threads like this. But trivial shyt in the booth about Lil Durk destroying the youth goes platinum

The same talking points. I'm trying to shake shyt up here

You made a thread about albums that aged like wine just to post an album that came out a year ago. I was thinking more like:

Cannibal Ox- Cold Vein
DMX- It's Dark and Hell Is Hot
Big Punisher- Capital Punishment
It aged like wine for me. Wine can age over a year
:francis:

I have an inclination that it will age even better for me, and other listeners as time goes on

We have tons of thread like these as half this board is stuck somewhere between 1989-2004. If I felt like searching I’m sure we could pull up 15 variations of this thread. Nothing wrong with that, but let’s not act like we don’t do these types of threads either, we do.

Exactly. Not for albums that came out in 2016 and so on and so forth. That's the problem

There's an age gap here. Alot of posters are stuck in their childhood nostalgia and aren't open to recent music. I grew up in the Blog Era. This is just my way of sparking fresh conversation

Live From The Underground by KRIT is another album I was gonna post. Many more albums

Watching Movies With The Sound Off by Mac Miller

This is one of my personal favorite albums of all time. It came out when I was in high school. I played it alot and enjoyed it

But it wasn't until that 2015-2017 period while I was in college when I truly appreciated it. The lyrics, the beats, concepts. This album was hip hop at its finest. Showed how much potential Mac had. How much talent he had as a musician. He even produced music on here

He passed away in 2018. Projects from him like this one and Faces became hard to listen to. Only because of the subject matter related to his death

That's neither here nor there. There were alot of great moments on this record. The aftermath of this album dropping is when Mac started to be taken seriously in the industry. How much of a genuine fan of the culture he was

He was always true to the genre and put on quite a few of other artists who deserved shine. And it took me a few years later to really FEEL the shyt he was saying on here

You was Easy Mac with the cheesy raps...../ who tf is Mac Miller

Moments. Hip Hop. Art that will live for years to come and will be remembered in history fondly
