I don't think that's what anybody's arguing. It's moreso that many won't bother to listen if they aren't a fan of the artists he's producing for. That goes for pretty much any producer. That being said, a lot of the producers who are greats managed to help establish or establish some of the MC's who are considered GOAT. Even though it's cliche, steel sharpens steel.
Alchemist has already worked with nearly everyone except Jay.....he mostly sticks to underground acts now tho, which is too bad. But when you think about it, hes worked with Nas, Snoop, Eminem, Nelly, Scarface, TI, Wayne, Ross, 50, Game, Jada etc
And honestly if someone thinks Mike Will is producer of the year thats completely respectable, he's legit killing it, but will he be consistently growing and arguably at his best 10-15 years from now??
