It's just as likely he could have also lost to Trump because his weakness was minority voters and especially black voters. He probably would have gotten less of the black vote than Hillary Clinton did and they would have turned out in less numbers for him than her.

If Bernie could have actually excited black voters to turn out for him he would have been the nominee. Clinton straight up pounded him there in the primaries.

Black people didn't hate bernie sanders. They simply knew hillary more. If he was their only choice, they would have looked at his record and said, "damn homie, he is one of us."

That is a very stupid assumption.

I agree that also, he wouldve done poorly in the debates vs trump, considering clinton is an elite debater, and heres the real issue:

The campaign reform / punish the banks type platform just does absolutely nothing to the white collar white former middle class voter who won the big ten states for trump. Simple as that; he would not have won MI, wisconsin, ohio, etc so nothing else really matters.

Black voters would vote for anyone that Democratic Party tells them to vote for
But MORE black voters vote if its someone we believe in. Stop insulting us; we did our part in the last THREE elections, including this one with good turnout and 90%+ against trump.

Not really, a couple of things

1) The black vote wasn't enthusiastic about Hillary, they just hated Donald Trump ( this doesn't change with Bernie Sanders)

2) Bernie Sanders would've gotten the same amount of African-Americans that Hillary has.

3) Bernie would've made bigger inroads with Midwest voters ( his trade policies) than Hillary Clinton. This wins the election for him

4) The slight drop that Bernie would've gotten from minority voters, would be made up from millenials ( feel the Bern)

It's not a stupid assumption at all. His issues with black voters cost him the primaries. He never even really properly courted them until it was too late.

If he could have got even 45% of the black vote in the primaries he likely would have been the nominee because enough of the contest in larger states were close enough to push more of them in his favor. Instead Clinton got 70% of the black vote and he came up short. Are you saying that problem would have vanished? The real question is could he have better split the working class white vote enough to counter it.

Maybe but how would their turnout be for a candidate that overall they're mostly indifferent to?

"insulting". Nikka it's true

Did our part to do what? Elect a family who has hurt us more than the crazy guy. A large amount of black men can't vote because of racist policies that a certain family pushed for

The fact that Hillary kept us so loyal basically giving Bernie:rudy: is embarrassing

Did our part to help avoid the relatively open white supremist in the whitehouse. At the end of the day, neither clinton or sanders win the big ten states because that was moved by (in their mind) disenfranchised rust belt white voters. No way either of them win that because they never spoke to them.
