Bottom line is they either have hangups or definitely have agendas. Going after rap is a scapegoat full stop. They'll blame rap for everything. You call them out...they move the goalpost on you. It is poverty education and lack of opportunities. It's why most crime happens in poor areas period. Middle class folks listen to rap go home eat go to sleep and head to work and do it all again in the morning. It's a white supremacist talking point to blame rap. They blame it because they are jealous and hate to see black people get money. What are you egghead dude's excuse? It probably does stem from some high school trauma.

You are basicalky saying black people are too stupid to know a rap song from real life when you blame rap. These same dudes turn around and say they love black people. :gucci: :gucci: :gucci: :gucci: :gucci: :gucci: :gucci:

These young drill rappers today never tell these young nikkas truths if u are in the streets
Bald faced lie. You cherry picked. I could go grab a random geto boys cut that didn't lay out consequences. This is one of the silliest comparisons you guys do. If you say rap glorifies the bullshyt you say it does don't pretend there are levels to it. :russ::russ::russ::russ:

I could think of some movies that show black people getting killed by other black people. Guess that's poison, too. Where does it end since black people are so prone to acting out what they hear and see. I can't be the only one that sees the bigoted slant of this shyt?

The image of Black Men and Women is at an All-Time low. Brothers who want to dismantle and create a much more positive, inspiring image of our people, are being called out by other Black Men for wanting better. :what:

The real question is, why do you guys fight so hard to defend Drill Rap? :jbhmm:
Because it doesn't have shyt to do with the stuff dudes try to hang it on.

Also you need to check your circle. Image is at an All Time High. Graduations up. Business ownership up. Yes even relationships up! It's easy to see what you wanna see though.

Unless you mean how white folks see us. Then what you typed makes sense. :mjpls: :mjpls: :mjpls: :mjpls:

Charleston White, Hassan Campbell, and many other former gang members are denouncing the street lifestyle and music. Not everything is about high school trauma and suburban nerds trying to get revenge. I mean, I get it. Anyone that's been here on thecoli long enough will see that there are a lot of clown ass, 4-eyed pocket watching, herb ass, jealous and envious clowns on here that want bad things to happen to Black people. However, denouncing street shyt is not about jealousy for everyone.

Late 80s, 90s, and 2000s Gangsta Rap had a great aura about it, and was centered around storytelling, lyricism, and lessons

After 2010, Gangsta Rap just became straight up senseless and non-creative
Man if this ain't some bullshyt:mjlol: shyt like this is exactly why young nikkas hate older ones everybody sees through the high horse bullshyt

Gangsta rap wasn't centered around no fukkin lessons:mjlol: gangsta rap got poppin for the exact same reason drill did. Nikkas think that shyt cool

Lot of y'all ain't no different than the civil rights generation that left y'all out to dry for white acceptance, refusing to acknowledge your hand in the way shyt is now. None of this shyt is isolated it's a house that all of us helped build.

But when it's time to acknowledge your hand in it you old school nikkas pull that "my era was all about teaching lessons and building the community" bullshyt. Whatever"lessons" you think was being taught clearly didn't work

Some of these new nikkas got "lessons" just like the older ones did. But that shyt ain't why nikkas come to the party. Nikkas like the shyt because they think nikkas look cool and think them nikkas got bodies. The same shyt Y'ALL thought was cool:camby:

Imagine defending the era that produced Nikkas4Lyfe:mjlol: imagine defending the era that produced shyt like this

Nikkas directly create a generation of kids they hate and look down on them wonder where it all went wrong and why they don't respect them. That shyt is pathetic

Also the bold isn't all that true either. It was a few of them nikkas who got hoes. But the average street/hood nikka wasn't pulling like that. And the "baddies" they got were busted too a few years after highschool. I know a Spanish chick who got 4 kids now and works at a damn family dollar.
Man let these nikkas be mad:mjlol:

Theres no nuance to these dumbass conversations and thug/street nikkas are just one big collection of stereotypes:russ:

The 100% wake up everyday on bullshyt, hittin licks, might have bodies street nikkas are not having hoes like that, and if you ever knew or was friends with one you couldn't even bring that anti social ass nikka around hoes because they'd be scared of him. Nikka in the room excessively hard and awkward fukkin up the energy:russ: and scaring the hoes rarely ends well for nikkas trying to smash

The all black tee wearing, no edgeup for two weeks, ashy elbows, would rob a Family Dollar on a moments notice nikkas wasn't taking nobody hoes like that but let these nikkas tell it they was swimming in dimes:mjlol:

What usually happens is some cool charismatic nikka with a few tats that sold weed or got in a few fights at school had some hoes that them nikkas had crushes on and they never let that shyt go. The type of nikkas that likely would've had hoes anyway but decided to put some street nikka mannerisms in their shyt

Let these nikkas tell it the street nikkas in their nightmares are Marlo and Chris when most of them nikkas are Poot

Charleston white was a follower who admits he joined gangs to be cool copying the LA influence. Hassan Campbell is another follower who was letting Bambara drop his nuts in his mouth. These are perfect examples of individuals who would be mad at gang life because they got used up.

May be some truth to this claim

I mostly see it as a generational/ age gap on this site, just dismissing modern “gangsta” rap as having no redeemable qualities.
Just cuz you grew up on Geto Boys or Onyx don’t make the shyt high art. Music changes, what’s defined as lyricism changes. There’s plenty of storytelling/cautionary tales on todays rap, just say you don’t like the shyt.
I been on these forums for a long time, when Flocka and Brick Squad came out, it was the same argument.

And it feels like some on here get all their hood updates from social media that shows the worst of the worst. It’s the end of days to some folks :mjlol:

Man, woman, and child
This is what hip hop fans wanted tho. We can’t have it both ways. We used to shyt on studio gangsters and talk about how they weren’t living their music

You still got nikkas on this site who still call Rick Ross Officer Ricky
:mjlol:
So now we got rappers really living that shyt out becuz we wanted authentic music. And truth be told there has always been rappers who were bout that life. But we gonna give them a pass becuz their pen game was better?
