Ok but then you gotta acknowledge the whole issueKey word older
That was always my point of view. That's why always look at other middle age dudes sideways when they blame rap music for today's climateOk but then you gotta acknowledge the whole issue
One of the biggest reasons young people hate old(it's not just hip hop) is old people tend to rose tint the past like they weren't once the same kids they finger wag and high horse on.
You got posts in here with nikkas trying to overly moralize and romanticize gangsta rap from their era, like that shyt didn't directly influence what we have today. They want drill music to be an isolated incident and not the fruit of the same trees they grew and ate from.
Old nikkas treat accountability like disrespect based on a context of respect they probably don't even deserve
And yea as nikkas get older they start realizing all the bullshyt they bought into as a youth, but the problem with trying to preach to young nikkas is it's too late
Those same stripes and accolades nikkas got from being "the man in my city" "nikkas know what I'm about" "I'm really him" ain't changed. The young nikkas want that shyt tooso all that preaching about the past shyt don't matter when old nikkas love the respect they get from being whatever they were(or pretended to be)
Because it doesn't have shyt to do with the stuff dudes try to hang it on.
Also you need to check your circle. Image is at an All Time High. Graduations up. Business ownership up. Yes even relationships up! It's easy to see what you wanna see though.
Unless you mean how white folks see us. Then what you typed makes sense.![]()

Or it could be because black people are tired of living in fear and danger in their own neighborhoods. And are annoyed by grown men and women still glamorizing "street" life in their music thus influencing youths to continue the cycle...
See this is exactly the shyt I was talking aboutMusic about murder, selling and doing drugs, robbing people, drugging men and women, bragging about how hard/tough/hood you are, you know, these songs that are literally incriminating these so-called rappers and their criminal escapades, you're telling me none of this dangerous?
Image is at an All-Time high, huh? All these Love and Hip Hop, Basketball Wives, Housewives variation shows are portraying nothing but positive images of Black Men and Women? P-Valley shows Black Men in an exemplary fashion? The emasculation of Black Men coupled with the Masculation of Black Women in all forms of media is indicative of our successes, right?
Funny enough that you bring up white people, who have and will continue to portray and project every negative stereotype about us, as a cop out. In fact, the very reason we must take back control of image is to honestly, piss off white people. They HATE the fact that we succeed, in spite of all the LAWS and double standards in the way they treat us... and still stand strong!!
Look, I get it, cornball brothers who didn't have the heart to run the streets, live vicariously through these inner city demons and their destructive lyrics, so you and other ignorant mfers like you will stand tall against any attacks aimed at your pseudo gangster identity.![]()
Y’all still ain’t moved past it and it shows
I can’t stand going into a thread and seeing “music about killing black people”
Y’all say that shyt about EVERY artist who isn’t a square
It really just boils down to y’all are still insecure about “thugs” who get all the women y’all don’t care about no damn black lives
If y’all cared about black lives then y’all would call out these bytches who set nikkas up n get nikkas killed or call out the mothers who proudly raise their children to be like that, but you SIMPS never do that which is further proof y’all whole agenda is coming from a place of envy not care
Shoutout my big homie @Double Burger With Cheese
We smoking on that @Matt504 tonight![]()
The hood doesn't breed quality human beings.Has nothing to do with the bytches hood dudes get.
Nah, you are just being dense for the sake of your argument.See this is exactly the shyt I was talking about
Your post presents as one thing until you get to "cornball brothers who didn't have the heart to run the streets....." And proves you're just as susceptible to the same shyt you blame other nikkas for
You want to shyt on gang culture and negative images while placing it on the same pedestal the admirers do
I'm really not, I'm laying out why nikkas still try to be street nikkas in spite of all the advice and fake moralizingNah, you are just being dense for the sake of your argument.![]()
Yup this the love/hate relationship people have with the street dudeI'm really not, I'm laying out why nikkas still try to be street nikkas in spite of all the advice and fake moralizing
You think that comment was innocuous, but it lays all the cards out on the table. Anything you said prior to "cornball brothers...." is rendered irrelevant by that statement
If you didn't also hold street shyt to a high regard you wouldn't say what you said
It ain't about you or an argument I see nikkas do this shyt every single time
Pretty much. I ain't looking for gotcha moments just calling out when nikkas lie to themselvesYup this the love/hate relationship people have with the street dude
To add on to your point I think people idolize the rap/tv version of the street dude not the real street dude who's trapping all day just to come up with money for the electric bill.Pretty much. I ain't looking for gotcha moments just calling out when nikkas lie to themselves
And I've seen nikkas go to irreversible lengths trying to prove they're not the "cornball brother" because at the end of the day nikkas always revert to street nikkas being the ideal of black masculinity. Even when they're criticizing it
Nikkas say whatever and think that shyt has no effect
