I don't have the setup and tools, but I'm interested. I'm subscribed to Matthias Wandel on Youtube and watch Nick Offerman's videos.
Dope. I hadn't followed Offerman yet. I'm going to do that now.
You don't have to start with advanced or expensive shyt. Banggood and AliExpress is a good place to grab some simple tools (measurement, chisel, etc). And pretty much all of them you can find reviews of on Youtube. And HomeDepot always has good reasonably priced Ryobi (Milwaukee's sister brand) sales for power tools.
A combination square, drill/driver, and a handsaw (small circular saw when you're ready) and you can build a lot to learn basics. Then add a trim router and you can start to refine pieces.
Right now the killer is wood prices. So pretty much everything I do is plywood and has to fit in the back of wifey's smaller sized SUV.
But you can start with what's called 'Project Panels'. Those you can order online with free delivery. They are pre sanded pieces of smaller plywood you can use to get your feet wet.
The intersection of a CNC, 3D Printer and traditional woodworking is where it's at.
