It wasn't there reason for initial success tho, all those guys you named built there rep and initial following in the urban communities, dudes was listening to Jay way before it's a hard knock life but that was the song that for him made it to the pop stations and that's when he really hit super star status, same for pac
Im not saying Kendrick blowing up is bad I'm saying because we're in the Era of social media now whites have easier/earlier access to him early on
Long story if he came out in the mid 90s in my opinion he would be considered mediocre at best, not the super star/ rap savior he is seen as now which again I mostly seen being talked about online / from whites
