It used to be a term for the hoteps, then the Black feminists took it and then the white folks took it. Now everything they don’t like is “woke”.
Yep I place a lot of the blame for this one on shea butter Twitter. For a while there it seemed like they gave any white man that said anything along the lines of "black people are humans too" the "that's a woke white boy" treatment since they get graded on a curve. Then white folk snatched it and now it's a blanket term for anything not right wing.
