Sequencing has ALWAYS been important though. Its just that in our current age of microwaveable ADHD just-insert-water everything, someone actually taking the time to build an idea beyond a simple loop (and this goes for every genre) is quite impressive. And then for greater kicks, when that big idea fits into an even bigger idea, its even more impressive.

theyre two RnB artists making very long and fully drawn-out songs. Thats it, thats all. Basically everything else about them is different: race, religion, living status etc etc

I cant think of any other recent RnB artists with long-ass songs

I think its ok to listen to whatever the fukk you want whether that be Justin Timberlake, Drake, Wu Tang, or Immortal Technique however I do agree that Timberlake isn't hip hop and its strange that people on here are getting so excited over it. The same applies to drake for me. This guy is a pop star who in my opinion makes music primarily for women. I don't dislike him or like him. I bypass all the drake threads but it still baffles me when I see people on here getting hard over drake and his music.

Do I not understand what hip hop is anymore or have I just grown out of it?
