The problem is now, that we have the hindsight to see that it's a pretty hollow album....you could have handed Bishop Lamont or Stat Quo that cd and they would have been Game, from the beats to the song concepts....it's very mechanical, it's the music equivalent of a slick, well produced, big budget blockbuster, it's like a 'Bad Boys 2', it's flashy, it looks good, but it's hollow and artificial.
And I loved the album, I bought it multiple times, was at a defining....or at least very memorable part of my life, lot of drunken nights with that album, a lot of time spent with friends over that cd, I''d have 'Runnin' on as we smoked blunts and rode, and 'Special' playing on the couch with a girl I was with at the time....it's a memorable album, was important to me....but it's not great on it's own merit...
How do you diss Benzino/The Source on a song about your deepest regrets and dead homies...lol I always thought that was odd...
