I just feel like a lot of things are waste of money but my mother-in-law wants to buy me a birthday gift and this year I actually said yes and it only cost $60 but I still feel weird
Am I weird for turning down birthday gifts???

I'm gonna go ahead and assume birthdays weren't big for you growing up huh? As a child they were for me, but as I got to my pre-teens, teens and young adult life fam ain't do nothing besides for a birthday cake and give me money.

I never understood why people making such a big deal
But my little cousin died when he was 21 years old so now I kind of understand a little more

Yeah, let them buy it, just take it and say thank you. People like to show you that they care about you and for some people buying a gift is the best way to show you.
